Speaker 11 00:30:44 Very, very
Speaker 7 00:30:46 Wanna thank all the volunteers here with our great community. For most of you that don't realize, we really rely on the volunteers in our community a lot to provide a lot of great services within our community. We're very fortunate enough that we have a very large volunteer base of people that want to give up their time and help the community at large. Whether it's the boards and commissions or volunteering in emergency services or et cetera or any other items. So I really, once again on behalf of myself and our professional staff to thank all the volunteers out there. As a quick note, we're gonna have a very busy year coming up. We're expecting to get more of these road projects out to bid, reconstruct a lot of streets in town, continue renovating our 27 municipal parks. Obviously working on the ecological park and a lot of other items out there and I, I don't wanna be bold to say this right now, but until we get to the budgeting, I would not be surprised if we have our tax rate either stay stable or go down again. So
Speaker 2 00:31:52 That would be great news Mr. Mayor. That
Speaker 7 00:31:54 Would be the seventh year in a row.
Speaker 2 00:31:55 Wonderful, wonderful Mr. Dacey
Speaker 8 00:31:59 Slate to wish everybody a happy New Year and look forward to working with everybody this year. It should be a very, very exciting year.
Speaker 2 00:32:05 Wonder. Thank you.
Speaker 13 00:32:09 Just, yeah, looking forward to working with the administration and the council this year and I think we'll do some great things.
Speaker 2 00:32:15 Thank you. And I too would like to thank, I give a special thanks to Frank or Frank led us through this last year professionally. I don't think you missed one council meeting. You did not. Yes. Yes he does. And Frank, you know it, it's not lost on me how much you've dedicated your life to this town. Not just here on this council, but your entire life with your coaching, your whole entire family actually being involved in town and now your service here on council. I think it was very fitting and I am very grateful and appreciative for your leadership. Thank you. And Dennis, I look forward to you as well working with you, the entire council to the Township of Piscataway. I think that you cannot find a more grateful council here to serve you and to be your public servants and to have your confidence I think between our tax rate, our public services, certainly during the time of Covid.
Speaker 2 00:33:29 I'd like to remind everybody that the Township did not stop running. We did not have to furlough anyone and services kept going. And that is through the leadership at the top, Mr. Mayor, our Business Administrator, our CFO Daniel, the entire staff. The entire staff here at the municipal building works hard every day to give our residents the best service that they can. And I look forward to this year. I look forward to finding more ways to do right by our residents every day. And I know that this team is ready for that. Super excited. Okay, sorry about that. Got a little long-winded there.
Speaker 2 00:34:20 Oh and also too, let Meles not we forget our, our clerk and our assistant clerk who sit up here all the time and have to listen to our long-winded speeches. Thank you very much. You are the face two of this town and Dana I know is in the back there. Corman and Jen Johnson, all of you who are front facing to our residence. Thank you very much. All right. Okay, now whew that takes care of that. Number 17 will be discussion for the consent session. For the agenda for the session on January 30th, 2024. Speaker 1 00:36:06 I would like some clarification on that one.
Speaker 7 00:36:09 This is over by the fire training. All the paper streets over by the fire training site over there.
Speaker 1 00:36:15 Extinguishing them too.
Speaker 7 00:36:17 It would be to, to the part where we're gonna have a redevelopment site out there to the, to the properties out out there where the old Leila bus company was. I don't know if you've ever been back there. It's Leila Bus Company has left Skyway and we're trying to get that site cleaned up 'cause it's actually in deplorable condition quite frankly.
Speaker 2 00:36:39 So it's not quite contiguous to where the Best Buy is, but it's in that same area.
Speaker 7 00:36:47 It's adjacent to the fire train, it's AJA Center.
Speaker 2 00:36:50 Gotcha. Thank you very much. So those are all of the I items now for the next meeting. So we'll go on to 18, which will be open to the public for remote attendees. Speaker 7 00:39:48 Before you ask for an, you can ask for close touch. I'd like to make a comment about Mr. Baker.
Speaker 2 00:39:54 Oh, yes.
Speaker 7 00:39:57 No, Mr. Baker is allegedly retired now, our former Township attorney. But he's still here in the audience. Oh, I think he's taken a long sabbatical actually. He's still on call for any legal work. But the day-to-day operation of being a town's attorney has been turned over to Raj. So I wanna thank Mike for all the hard work he did for many a years as the Township attorney. And for those of you who don't know personally, Mike personally, he is a farmer at at heart. He has a very big farm in his hometown of East Brunswick where he farms on a consistent basis. And him and I swap stories on, on who's growing the bigger tomatoes or the better fruit, fruit and things like that and vegetables. So I, Mike, I wish you luck tilling your, your soil to bring the fruits of the earth out of there in your retirement.
Speaker 2 00:40:53 Oh Michael, I did not see you back there. You're hiding. Thank you very much. Thank you, Mayor. That was very nice. So let me just get back to then closing the public portion. So now I am closing the public portion and that will bring us to the last item. Adjournment. Do I have an offer? Offer? Do I have a second? Second. Second. All those in favor say aye. Aye. Aye. Any nays? Aye. Nope, none. We are adjourned. I got my devil. I.
