Speaker 5 00:44:12 Thank you. And Lois told me she's, she's going to stay. Speaker 3 00:44:17 Oh, she's not leaving you then. Well, she's Speaker 5 00:44:20 Not leaving me. Speaker 4 00:44:33 I don't know how I could top that, but anyhow, I just want to say, and I talked to Brian, the mayor briefly about this. So I've, I've made a couple of trips to the community center. I was there over the weekend anonymously knowing I hopefully no one knew who I was, but I, I made it my business to talk to a few folks that were there, just, you know, chit chat with them. And I I'm, I'm rather competent. They didn't know that I was a Councilman. And the, the amount of compliments that facility has gotten in the town has gotten. And the amount of, I posted a couple of things online, which I'm not a ginormous fan of and friends from other towns around the state and around the country are, are rather envious of, of the facility. So while we're somewhat limited by the COVID situation, you know, I really want to say to the mayor and my council colleagues, we should really be proud. Speaker 4 00:45:30 It's a great accomplishment. And the residents of the town are, are, are really enjoying it wholeheartedly. So I've been to the facility number of times, but it was my first chance to really talk to a live customers, so to speak, to see what they thought. And I, and I was extremely impressed. I know the mayor's there quite often and he probably has similar experiences, but it was my first experience, really talking to residents who didn't know who I was and to get really candid feedback from them. So I just wanted to let my council colleagues know that people are very appreciative of the facility and I'm really looking forward to, I mean, it's going to be just greater and greater as, as the world changes for the better. Thank you. Speaker 3 00:46:16 Thank you, Councilman con, for sure. I think at one point or another, all of us have heard from various residents about that, but it's Al it's always good to know. It's always good to hear that there is such a great positive this year in light of the pandemic. So thank you for sharing Councilwoman Lombardi, Speaker 6 00:46:40 Completely agree with Councilman con statement. People love the facilitate, and I've got an even more compliment on the swimming facility piece of the community center. So it does give our residents something positive to do during difficult times for many people mentally. So it definitely is a good thing for everybody to do who is suffering from, you know, not being able to get out and be with their loved ones. I'd also like to wish a very happy, healthy, and safe Thanksgiving to everyone in town. Thank you. Speaker 3 00:47:24 Thank you. Councilwoman Lombardi, Councilman Shaw. Just Speaker 7 00:47:30 Say happy Thanksgiving to everybody be safe. That's it. Thank you. Speaker 3 00:47:36 Thank you. Councilman shot. Councilman earn. Speaker 8 00:47:40 Sorry. I just like to wish everybody a happy Thanksgiving and be safe. Speaker 3 00:47:45 Thank you, Councilman urn, Mr. Mayor. Speaker 8 00:47:51 Thank you, council president. I just want to congratulate Councilman Bellard and his wife Lois on their anniversary. So as the gift, I'm going to send over some Apollo cooking over to the house Speaker 8 00:48:04 Cookies though. That's for sure. And then unless you like a bird, so you very much there and everybody else have a great Thanksgiving there. And just remember all the restrictions that are set forth by the department of health. And can also talk about very briefly we've administrator Dacey myself, as well as other officials around the county in, in Ms. Pally, Saron, I've been in contact with each other, you know, about the COVID, you know, we, there were weekly calls between the county, the state department of health briefings, and I think we're gonna be in good shape if, and when we get the vaccinations to get it out to our residents, we're working on some plans right now with the county officials and hopefully we'll we'll have it sooner than later. It's pretty much a council president. Speaker 3 00:48:59 Thank you. Thank you, Mr. Mayor, business administrator, Tim Dacey, Speaker 8 00:49:05 Nothing other than to have a great and safe Thanksgiving. Speaker 3 00:49:11 Thank you so much, counselor, Raj, happy and safe. Alright. And I'd like to just sorta reiterate some of what my council colleagues has mentioned again about the community center and, you know, honestly, what a blessing it was that it opened up this year, although it was delayed because our residents really needed this. And I've heard probably just so many people talk about the facility, how beautiful it is and you know how they're looking forward to a time when we we'll all be able to come together in a more robust way. So that's true. I'd like to just reiterate what the mayor has said to our residents, to all my colleagues here, the administration again, is staying in contact with the department of health, but we recommend that all of our residents follow guidelines as set forth by the department of health, in the state of New Jersey follow CDC and take, you know, very seriously into heart that this is, this is a holiday season. Speaker 3 00:50:37 We all want to be, get to be together. We want to be with our family, but if we can sacrifice a holiday or two, so that we needed only potentially hurt a loved one with, you know, potentially COVID-19, we don't want to do that. And there'll be a time for us to all come together. And I will also say that I look forward to some of the updates that we will have from mayor and administration as to when the vaccine is made available to the general public, what that will look like. And, and I just know that this township will be at the fore with having plans to hopefully get our residents vaccine. Should they want that? And with that, I'll just wish everyone, a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving, let's be thankful for what we have and remember those who are less fortunate. And, and that is all I have to say. And that'll bring us to then number 14, which is the agenda session for the December 1st, 2020 meeting, the first item will be an ordinance on second reading, acceptance of traffic signal at river road and Ridge road. This is open to the public and it will be a resolution adopting ordinance. Are there any comments or questions regarding this item? Speaker 3 00:52:09 C none that will be on the next item will be an ordinance on second reading, fully funded, 1.5 million in equipment and vehicles. This is also open to the public and it will be a resolution adopting ordinance. And then any comments or questions from council regarding this item seen on that will be on the next item will be actually when we do the next 1, 2, 3, 4, let's see, one, two. We'll do the next two items are resolutions, both authorizing one budget transfers and the next authorizing renewal of a liquor license, 1217 dash 33 dash 0 1 7 dash 0 0 9 L and w services LLC, inactive for the 2021 licensed term. Any comments or questions on those two items seen on they'll be on the next two. One is a resolution authorizing 20, 20 and 2021 peddlers license was that Pozo and a resolution authorizing waving of the 20, 21 late fees for establishment closed due to the health emergency. Any comments or questions on those? I just have a quick question. If I, on the weighting of the late fees, which I mean already, that sounds like a, pardon me? Yeah. I just wanted to see which ones were waving. I mean, it obviously makes sense, but I just didn't notice which one it was and we can come back to that. Then the next item is a resolution authorizing award of contract for public safety building bulletproofing exterior windows through ESC 18 four slash 19 dash 28 window film Depot, not to exceed $127,393 and 50 cents. Any comments or questions from council on that Speaker 9 00:54:09 Council president? The late fee one is for, I believe it was the restaurant. Speaker 3 00:54:13 Oh yeah. Got it. Got it. Okay. Very good. That's good to know. Okay. Okay. On that next item were any comments or questions from council regarding this item? Okay. See none that will be on, I think that's, that's the end of them. Speaker 5 00:54:36 I've have one statement if I make and you have it. Speaker 3 00:54:39 Absolutely. Councilman Bellard. Yes. Speaker 5 00:54:42 I want to tell you that the going back to voting and so forth is the people that I was able to talk to by voting by mail. It was a pleasure for them to hear one of us call them and so forth. And those, you know, just last week that they required a number of people who had issues or errors on their, their, the, the voting paper, when you call them, they are especially a pleasure for them. And they thank us. They said, thank you very, very much. I do appreciate you, you know, your team reaching out to us. Speaker 3 00:55:24 That's it. Okay. Thank you, Councilman Bellard. All right. This will bring us to number 15, which is open to the public. Anyone in the public wishing to comment may do. So at this time, please remember to press star nine, to raise your hand when it is your turn to speak, you'll hear an announcement that you've been un-muted at that time. Please state your name and address and know that you have three minutes in which to make your comments. The council administration will respond if necessary, after you've completed any comments or questions. Speaker 3 00:56:13 Just, I am asking somebody with the phone number, the N seven, seven, six two to unmute yourself. Oh, there. Yeah, you are un-muted. Speaker 1 00:56:26 Oh, good. I have a kind of a sad topic Speaker 3 00:56:30 If you heard. I'm sorry. Could you please state your name and address for the record? Speaker 1 00:56:37 No. Right. My name is Suzanne grants, Melissa and I live on 2 25 Runyon avenue and Piscataway. Speaker 3 00:56:46 Okay. Thank you so much. Go right ahead. Speaker 1 00:56:49 Yeah. I have a rather sad topic. A high school student from our town died in a traffic accident late last week. And that traffic accident happened at an ungated railroad crossing. The girl young woman was in a car and she died in this accident. And that was wondering, what exactly would it take to have the railroad crossing gated? Because we live in a very densely populated area with a lot of traffic and it just seems safer. I mean, I'm sure there were many factors that contributed to the accident. She said, it just seems safer to have all railroad crossings gated and in this town, Speaker 3 00:57:40 I thank you so much for bringing that. And I think everyone here on this council was made aware of that issue. I really would defer to either council or mayor to comment on the railroad crossing because I do understand there still is an ongoing investigation into that accident and that railroad costing. I think we wouldn't have a director stiction if I'm correct. Speaker 1 00:58:10 Yeah. I tried to find out, it seems to be in at the border of south Plainfield and Piscataway. And if it's on the border, I don't know which town is responsible or is it maybe the railroad company that's operating? Do they need to be put under pressure to install a gate there? Because I believe there was a light and a signal and in an ideal world, that would be enough, but not ideal. And I think the gate would be better. Speaker 3 00:58:41 Yes. Go ahead. Miss administrator. Yes. Speaker 9 00:58:44 So the whole, the railroad crossings in New Jersey are regulated by the state department of transportation. They've got actually have an office of a, that deals with the freight rails throughout New Jersey. And they have jurisdiction over all of the crossings. The Navy has to work with the railroads because the railroads have the right of way, obviously right away, which comes under federal jurisdiction. So local, local towns have nothing really to do with the crossing of that railroad. So Speaker 3 00:59:18 Is that something that the township though, Mr. Dacey could speak to advocating for that? I mean, how do we get that done if we want to do it and also to do we know if it was just scattered away township or south Plainfield or is it right on the border and would it require both towns working in concert? Speaker 9 00:59:43 Yeah, it's both towns and no. Are our police sirens working with the police department Speaker 3 00:59:50 In south plankton. Okay. All right. So I am going to, and we want to thank you very much for your comments. I think that once we know more from the police report, I think it's at that point that we can also maybe move forward at the township, but you know, your comments is well appreciated. And certainly please follow up with the mayor's office. Should you have any further questions? And so I will open this back up to the public again, if anyone else in the public is wishing to comment at this time, you may do so by hitting star nine, to raise your hand, when is your turn to speak? You'll hear an announcement that you've been unmuted at that time. Please state your name and address and know that you have three minutes in which to make your comments. Speaker 2 01:01:43 Yeah. Speaker 3 01:01:55 Seeing no hands raised at this time, that will bring us to number 16, which is a German. Do I have an offer? Do I have a second? Okay. First counsel and Lombardi. Second Councilman Shaw, all those in favor. Say aye. Any nays? None. See, none. This meeting is adjourned. We want to thank the public for attending, hoping that you have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving. Thanks to everyone coming out tonight. Every Thanksgiving.
