Speaker 3So, as we've said before, item 10 is postponed the redevelopment plan for 39th. Bridge number 11 is a postponed to January 14th, which is the ordinance review. And number 12 is the Board of Education Matter courtesy review for block 6 0 0 3 lot 10.01 for 100 Beamer Road as in the past. This is a courtesy review pursuant to statute, the Board of Ed, and come and make a presentation if they have a projects that they're going to do, which I believe they have several in the works. So this is for the Piscataway High School, and I believe Mr. Kza is here and he is, I believe, the board of Ed's architect.
Speaker 7Yes, that is correct. Mr. Barlow.
Speaker 3Okay. Start with the high school.
Speaker 7Absolutely. So good evening, members of the planning board. Thanks for the opportunity to present today. My name's Justin Ozick. I'm the Senior project manager with s Sp Architectural Group. As Mr. Barlow mentioned, we are the architect of record for the Piscataway Board of Education and we're here to discuss two projects with you tonight. Our goal is to provide a clear overview of the project, address any questions you may have, and we do appreciate your time and consideration. I am going
Speaker 3Mr. Mr. Kza, since you're gonna just be giving architectural testimony just out of an abundance of caution, I'm just gonna have Ms. Saunders swear you in. Sure. Okay. Thank you. Can you
Speaker 5Please, can you please raise your right hand? Do you swear that the testimony you're about to give will be the truth and nothing but the truth?
Speaker 7Yes.
Speaker 5Thank you.
Speaker 3Proceed.
Speaker 7Okay. Thank you. I'm going to share my screen. Bear with me. Okay. Everyone seeing my screen?
Speaker 3Yes. Yes sir. Okay.
Speaker 7Alright. Thank you. So vol, take upgrades at Piscataway High School. The board of Education recently decommissioned one of the existing solar arrays that was originally installed at the high school roof in originally installed in 2010. The, the district is now proposing an installation of a new solar array of equivalent system capacity, both a more efficient design and a reduced overall footprint on the roof's surface. The original installation covered the majority of the 2007 addition, as well as majority of the Susan B. Anthony Wing at the high school, as well as significant portions of the George S. Patton Wing. The proposed installation will be located exclusively this new installation on the Susan B. Anthony Wing of the high school. The total system size will be approximately 1.1 megawatts and will consist of 2023 solar modules. Inverters for the system will be positioned on the roof surface and the solar disconnect panel board and interconnection will be installed on the rear side of the Susan Van Anthony Wing behind the existing air cooled chiller units. This location matches the, a location of the existing devices, devices that were removed as part of the decommissioning process, and we'll ensure that the equipment is only visible from the access road at the back of the school, minimizing the visual impact. So at this time I'm going to move to exhibit DOE 0.2. As I mentioned, the existing system covered portions of the George s patent wing, which is shown in this northern part of the plan here, as well as this interconnection building that was built in two 2007.
Speaker 7The existing Susan B. Anthony Wing, which is shown here in Gray, was also had the existing solar removed, but that will be the location of the proposed new full voltaic install. Going to move to exhibit DOE 0.3. This is the proposed panel layout on the roof surface. As I mentioned earlier, the interconnection panel and disconnect devices, which will be installed on the exterior wall, are on the backside of the building behind these existing air cooled chiller units. There is an access road which goes behind the high school, which is only accessible by district staff, not the public. So the location is out of the way, the public view and in a conspicuous location. Mr. Barlow, should I proceed to the Quibble Town project or should I hold here for comments on the high school?
Speaker 3Yeah, if that's your presentation as to the high school, I think it would make sense if any of the board members have any questions about this project before moving on or comments. I don't know if Ms. Corcoran has any comments or if anyone else, I don't have any comments, Tom. Okay. Okay.
Speaker 8I I just have one, one minor, one. Madam Chair. Does the architect know, is this part of, did you get any federal grant money for this towards this? Or is this being before they expire next year?
Speaker 7The intent is, the intent is to get the, the funds before they expire.
Speaker 8Yeah. That, that's what I kind of figured. So
Speaker 7That is correct. Yes. Yeah.
Speaker 3Anyone else from the board have any questions about the Piscataway High School Solar Project? No. You wanna, you wanna,
Speaker 1Do you wanna open up to the public? Mr. Barlow
Speaker 3Is there? Yeah, certainly.
Speaker 1Anyone from the public have any questions or comments You can either speak, I gave your permission if you're on a phone, star six. If not, you could raise your hand. No. And Mr. Barlow.
Speaker 3All right. That being said, public has closed as to that. You wanna move on to the second one, Mr. Ick? I think that's Quibble Town Middle School.
Speaker 7Absolutely correct. Yeah. So this is the full take upgrades at Quibble Town Middle School. At this building, the Board of Education is planning to decommission the existing solar array, which is still in place, and it was originally installed on the school roof in 2011. They're also proposing an installation of a new solar array of equivalent system capacity and similar overall overall footprint on the roof surface. The proposed installation will be located on the original school building as well as the 1990s addition, the total system size will be approximately 315 kw and will consist of approximately 3 635 solar modules. Inverters for the system will be positioned on the roof surface and the solar disconnect panel board in interconnection will be installed in the same location as the existing devices adjacent to the existing parking. Lot of the original building construction, the devices are currently protected and will remain protected from the parking area by existing bollards. That will remain as part of the proposed work. Moving on to exhibit DOE 0.2, as I mentioned earlier, the installation will be on the roof area shaded in gray, so the majority of the roof surface. And I'm going to move to exhibit DOE 0.4, the inverter, I'm sorry, the disconnect interconnection are gonna be located in the same existing location as they are now along the parking lot of the existing building.
Speaker 7And that is all I have for this project. Are there any questions,
Speaker 5Any,
Speaker 3Any members of the board have any questions for Mr. Coza?
Speaker 8It just, real, real briefly, what is it the credits have, are expiring on the current panels or they not being efficient enough and thus replacing
Speaker 7The, the credits have expired on the existing panels? That is correct.
Speaker 8Yeah. Yeah, that's what I figured. So thank you.
Speaker 3Anyone else have any questions from the board? See Dawn shaking her head. Anyone from the public have any questions or comments about the Quibble Town Middle School Solar Project?
Speaker 1No one, Mr. Barlow.
Speaker 5Okay.
Speaker 3Well, I think I speak for the board. Mr. Kozy, thank you very much for taking the time to come out this evening and perform the courtesy review. And I know the board members really appreciate it when they get informed by the Board of Ed as to what's going on. And thank you again for your presentation.
Speaker 5We'll see. Absolutely.
Speaker 7I really appreciate the, the board's time as well. And I'm looking forward to presenting again on January 14th for Fellowship Forms.
Speaker 3See you next year.
Speaker 7All right. See you next year. Thank you all.
Speaker 3I'm gonna turn it over to Reverend Kinneally now and let him look, let him wrap things up as the vice chair. I don't think there's anything else on the agenda.
Speaker 1No, we just have to do the adjournment.
Speaker 3I'm gonna bring in the closer for that.
Speaker 5Someone had a question. Oh, I see a, yeah, I see a Q and a. It says it's one.
Speaker 1Oh, no, there was somebody, they had asked me a question, I already got
Speaker 5Back. Oh, okay. Yes, no, thank you.
Speaker 3Just said Understood. So I guess it was answered.
Speaker 4Okay. I guess we're at the end of our meeting that, yep. Have a motion for adjournment.
Speaker 5Reverend Kinneally, this is Carol SI make a motion for adjournment. Second, i a second Council. Councilwoman Cahill. Okay. All in favor? Aye. Aye.
